My name is Alexander Gahr and I was born on September 9, 1980 in Detmold, Germany.

Studies

At present, I am studying a doctorate at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain.

From 2004 to 2008 I studied in Spain Translation and Interpreting at the University of Málaga for the following languages:

  • Spanish (A)
  • French (B)
  • German (CI)
  • Modern Greek (CII)

I studied my last academic year at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.

From March to June 2007, I was as Erasmus student at the Ionian University in Corfu (Greece).

In 2006 I completed the course Teaching Spanish as foreign language at the University of Málaga.

In September 2008, I attended at the international symposium “Cities – Languages – Cultures“, which was organized by the Goethe-Institut, the Institute for the German Language (IDS) and the Duden editorial in Mannheim, Germany.

I have worked as a teacher at the following schools:

  • Language school of the Universitary Foundation of Las Palmas (FULP), 2009.
  • Language school Babelia (Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, 2007-2008). German lessons and Spanish for foreigners.
  • Liceo 2000 (Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, 2007). German lessons.
  • Hélice & Partners (Technology Park of Andalusia, Málaga, 2006-2007). German lessons and planning of specialized German courses, such as for tourism and German in the hospital.
  • Deutsch Schule (Málaga, 2004-2007). German lessons for Spanish people.
  • Abacus Institute for coaching (Bielefeld, 2002-2003). Coaching in German, English and Latin.
  • Collaboration in the Spanish website Gramática Alemana (German grammar) as exercise creator, audition reader, translator, corrector and blog writer.
